Blood shows guilt or shame due to someone's actions, victory or triumph over an enemy, or even courage in battle. One of the biggest ways that blood is used in Macbeth is to show guilt. After Macbeth has killed Duncan and Lady Macbeth returns from placing the daggers in the hands of the guards, they are both colored with the blood of the king. The red stains are unmistakable proof that they are guilty. If anyone were to see them in that state, they would have no hope of eluding severe punishment, but they were very quick to change out of their blood stained clothes and wash the blood from their hands. They believed that they had removed all guilt from themselves by doing that. The guilt appears to fall on the two guards outside the king's chamber who now have the bloody daggers in their hands. Before they can be questioned, though, Macbeth conveniently kills them claiming that he was overcome by a fit of rage due to the appearance of their guilt displayed by the bloody daggers in their hands.


The role of blood as guilt is not limited to just physical evidence. It also serves as a constant reminder for Macbeth and his wife. They think that by washing the blood from their hands, they are free of the deed. They believe that water can cleanse them completely, but their minds are eternally plagued with the thoughts. In the first scene of Act Five, the doctor and a gentlewoman witness Lady Macbeth walking in her sleep. While they watch, she screams aloud "Out, damned spot!…What, will these hands ne'er be clean?…Here's the smell of the blood still; all the perfumes of Arabia will not sweeten this little hand." She neglected the fact that water can not cleanse the mind. At the time, she thought that it would be simple to cover up the murder and forget about it, but the thoughts have not begun to leave her head. Her worries have only grown and intensified so that she has nightmares of them. The blood sticks with her to the end of the play when it eventually drives her to her death.


On the opposite side of the mirror, blood serves as a sign of courage. Before Macbeth becomes corrupted, he showed extreme bravery in battle. He was one of the military leaders that led Scotland to victory over the rebels. The blood on the edge of his sword was proof that he had fought hard in the battle as opposed to running away from the enemy as a coward would have done. Another person who displayed such courage in combat was Siward's son. In the final struggle against Macbeth and his men, Siward's son was killed. His death was one of great valor though. He died of multiple wounds to the chest, which prove that he died fighting. Although Siward was greatly dejected to hear this news, he was proud of the fact that his son had enough courage to stand strong in the face of adversity and combat.


One final use of blood is to show triumph. In Act Five, when Macduff returns to the stage carrying Macbeth's head, he proves that he has killed the traitor, and has gotten revenge. Victory is his. Since no action takes place on stage, the blood dripping head serves as a trophy for Macduff and a sign to the audience that Macbeth is truly dead. Macduff does not face guilt for his actions, though. He committed them out of what he thought to be good reason, as opposed to greed. Macbeth had murdered numerous people to try to ensure that he would be king. He feared that his throne would be threatened. Slaying him was an act of justice for the country. Macduff knew that this blood shed was necessary for that purpose. He had done a great service for the people.


Blood serves as a symbol to both the audience and the characters in this play. The audience can see how the blood of the king curses Macbeth and Lady Macbeth. They are unable escape the memory of their actions and their guilt only leads them into more trouble as they try to cover up the truth. Also, Macbeth's bloody head is necessary to prove Macduff's triumph. He carries it with pride and boasts of his conquest. This frequent use of blood flows throughout Macbeth and helps keep people interested. It feeds their desire for action while it still greatly contributes to the plot and events of the play.

A correlational study was used in journal article, Personality Factors Associated with Generalized and Non-Generalized Social Anxiety. The aim of the study was to determine if the participants' scores on measures of generalized and non-generalized social anxiety are predicted by different personality factors. Ninety-five male and female university students with a mean age of 0.6 voluntarily participated in the study.


The participants were to complete two measures of social anxiety, the Social Phobia Scale (SPS) and the Social Interaction Anxiety Scale (SIAS). The SPS and SIAS each consist of 0 scales to assess fears of the participants during social interaction and while being scrutinized during routine activities. Furthermore, they also had to complete two personality scales, the NEO-Five Factor Inventory (NEO-FFI) and the Anxiety Sensitivity Index (ASI). The NEO-FFI consists of 60 items for which the participants had to indicate the degree to which they agreed or disagreed with each item. The items were based on 5 personality dimensions Neuroticism, extraversion, openness to experience, agreeableness and conscientiousness. The ASI consisted of a 16 item self-report measure of fear of anxiety symptom based on the belief that these symptoms have harmful consequences. The results showed that twenty-two of the twenty-eight correlations showed significant relationships (p0.05). The five NEO-FFI measures of personality showed the lowest correlations while the SPS and SIAS showed the highest correlation (r = 0.78).


These results show that circumscribed social anxiety was mostly predicted by the ASI whereas generalized social anxiety was mostly predicted by neuroticism. These findings suggest that circumscribed social fears are associated with a fear of anxiety symptoms whereas generalized social anxiety is more related to personality dimensions reflecting neuroticism.

well well well, what it is now niggas. The site is moving along as planned and things are goin smoothly. This weekend was pretty sick. I chilled with some firends on friday and fucked around by the movies, almost got caaught (more details will be in the weed story section). Saturday i cabbed to islip to see my carmen grins and chill with my cousin. I was mad pissed at my fmaily thouygh they were ditchin me all weekend and i was left on my own to get my own rides with cabs or friends. Hmmp... long ass weekend. Long yet fun. I guess i needed to recover from the field trip and there wasnt much to do cept chill at the house or with carmen. Both, i guess, were pretty sick. I started crackin aims again and i picked up my new aim antwan since aol raped me in the ass, suspending just about everything i owned. So if you wanna find me ill be at the aim antwan. Ill prolly get some of my old aims back after they were reset cuz i got most of them protected. But im really pissed cuz im not gunna get tony back. Being that tony is my name i wanted it over anything. I got it for like weeks and it was keep getting reset and shit but i kept getting it back. But aol smartened up and slapped a nice big permawarn on my sn so i couldnt sign on aim with it i could only sign on AIMchange. So i wasnt able to keep the emails pending so i eventually lost it. Anyway who gives a fuck about aims they mean nothign right? Really im not a fag who sits home and calls in names and runs his cracker just to get some leets. 1. The book that I did my report on is called The Outsiders by S.E. Hinton. Its was published by the Penguin Group last in 17.


. The main characters in this book were Darry, Johnny, Sodapop, Ponyboy, Two-Bit Matthews, Dallas, Steve, and the Socs. Darry, Johnny, Sodapop, Ponyboy, Two-Bit Matthews, Dallas, and Steve were all in a gang that lived on the eastside of their town called the Greasers. The Socs were the rich kids that lived on the West Side of town. Darry, Sodapop, and Ponyboy were brothers whose mother and father died in a car crash leaving them living together under Darry's supervision. Darry is six foot two and muscular. He does not understand anything unless it is a plain hard fact, but he uses his head. Sodapop always understands everybody and always listens to everybody. Johnny was sixteen years old and had hard black eyes and black hair. Two-Bit is the oldest of the gang and the wisecracker of the bunch. You could not shut him up, he has to get his two bits worth in. Dallas was the wildest of the gang he first got arrested when he was ten. Steve was Sodapops best buddy from grade school. His specialty is fixing cars. Steve and Sodapop both work at a gas station. The Socs are an abbreviation for the socials, which are the rich west-side kids that jump the Greasers.

The next thing he knew was that he was laying face up in the pavement. "I killed him," said Johnny "I killed that boy." Johnny had killed a Soc named Bob. Dallas told them to hop a train to Windrixville, and to hide in the church on top of Jay Mountain until he got there and to stay out of sight. They stayed there for five days just smoking, reading, and eating bologna sandwiches. When Dallas got there he took them to eat and told them that the police were looking in Texas for them. When Dallas was driving them back to town they saw the church they stayed at on fire and found out that there were kids inside the burning church. Ponyboy and Johnny ran in to get the kids out. They got all of them out, but while Johnny was trying to escape a piece of timber hit his back and he was taken to the hospital. He died in the hospital and Dally is angered by this, and runs off. Later he calls Ponys house to tell him that he robbed a store and is being chased by the cops. They go to meet him, and see him shot down after he pulls a gun on the police.


5. I enjoyed reading The Outsiders because it showed how poor unwanted children survive. It was filled with drama, action, hope, and a little comedy. Although the book is fictional, I believe that people actually have to go through what Greasers do and this book shows how they live. The only problem with this book is that is was not very descriptive.


6. If I were to change the ending of the book I would make it so that Johnny survived. If Johnny had survived then Dallas would not have robbed a store and he would have lived and then Ponyboy and the rest of the Greasers would not be so sad.

in their journey for survival. When Christine experiences a loss of hope she attacks the


house. As shown in Act Two, Scene Ten, Christine attacks the house out of anger and


desperation, she no longer sees her life has any direction and is starting to tear down


the one thing that represented survival and direction in her life. This stage direction only


reiterates that the house is a solid metaphor for survival.


The 7 Stages of Grieving also uses the Dramatic Form and Convention of set de


sign to give us an insight into the struggles faced by Indigenous Australians. In,


1. Prologue, the scene is set


"A large block of ice is suspended by 7 strong ropes. It is


melting onto a freshly turned grave of red earth. The performance area is covered in a


thin layer of black powder framed by a scrape of white."


The layers of black and white earth represents the two races'. There is a great deal


of significance of the use of dirt in this design as it symbolises the two races trying to get by sharing the same land. The white earth surrounds the black earth much the


same way as white society has boxed itself around Aboriginal history and tradition.

The 7 strong ropes represent the 7 stages of grieving. Suspended by the ropes is a


large melting block of ice. The ice is dripping onto the red earth, this give a visual image


of crying, its as if the melting ice is crying out of grief for Indigenous Australians over


the land that is being ripped away from them by white society. The use of this design


has powerful emotional depth to it. The audience feels drawn to the performance on an


emotional level. The design layout has immediately personalised the performance and


sent a powerful message as to what the content of the play will address.


The characterisation of the characters in Gary's House is also a very important

Dave is portrayed as a distant character, who is afraid of commitment, as seen in Act


One, Scene Nine, when Christine begs Dave to "please stay". Dave turns his back


and walks away. Dave is drawn to family hence he doesnt leave when he is able to.


Through Dave staying we see a transformation of his character when he is the one


begging Christine to "please stay".


Sue-Anne displays many childlike qualities. She is self-absorbed and is always reliant

Christine is a hard product of society. She has a cold demeanor and comes across as a

lives and they were a majority. Therefore the Europeans set out to seize African slaves.


Africans were the perfect choice of slaves to farm in colonial America, because


slavery had already existed in Africa. Plus Africans could endure the heat of the raging


sun, since Africa and America's weather were similar. Also both African and European


colonist's bodies could resist many diseases, unlike native Indians.


Africans were shipped from Africa by the Europeans in what was called the Triangular


Trans-Atlantic Slave Trade. This was an organized route where Europeans would travel


to Africa bringing manufactured goods, capture Africans and take them to America.


Eventually they would take the crops and goods and bring them back to Europe.


However the Europeans had no humanity what so ever. For example, they


separated Africans from their families by the age of ten. After that they were shipped in


uncomfortable ships. Most of them suffered from suffocation, disease, and lack of


sanitation.

Some of the African slaves committed suicide, the reason for that was because

the effect that the demand for tobacco was very big in Europe, so exporting the crop was


a major factor in developing the agricultural economics.

racism, they didn't like to treat black's equally. Therefore they treated them harshly.


Slaves in Richmond and other towns would work as artisans or laborers, as long as they


sent part of their wages and the money that they make to their masters, they still had


harsh laws.


There came a time when the population grew and was about 50,000, that


happened because of the mixed economy. Everyone worked in different occupations. The


African Americans worked in either the fields or as cooks, housekeepers, personal


servants, or artisans. Some of the most important jobs were to work as lumberjacks or


shipbuilders. They built these ships because some slaves worked on the docks, or as


merchant sailors, fishermen, whalers, and privateers. Some African American men and


women worked in urban areas, in manufacturing and trading or as servants in the homes


of the rich families.

45) Life was hard for both the free and non-free African slaves. Both were treated badly


and disrespectfully. They had to obey a number of harsh rules; for example they couldn't

cut up into pieces.


Anti-slavery ideas started in the north, since they were allowed to become


popular. Eventually it moved down to the south; however, it took time for the southerners


to accept it. This was bad for the landlords because if slavery were abolished then most


or all of the economy in the south would collapse. Therefor plantation owners or


landlords would no longer have cheap labor which will then result in expensive products


so that means they can no longer compete in the market.


After anti-slavery ideas began to rise, political problems rose with them. After a


little while the civil started, at the end of the civil war, as you might know the north was


victorious over the south, that moment was when the north forced the south to ban


slavery. Which ended up in the destruction of the south.


The right of a nation to determine its own form of government does not include the right


to establish a slave society (that is, to legalize the enslavement of some men by others).

Winter, spring, summer, fall, the four seasons of the year. Each with its own qualities that might grab one person but not another. The season that really turns me on is summer. I love waking up to all of this but wish I could put it on hold for a couple hours because waking up at 6 a.m. is not my idea of a good mourning. So after a week or two the blankets go up and my room is transformed into the liar of dracula. I crawl out of my room at about 11 every day and retreat back to it at about 1 a.m. then I have to drown out the noise of crickets and frogs to go to sleep. One of the main reasons I love summer is because my parents are gone all day not that Id do anything bad like throw a party, Im a good kid. I turn my house and yard into a playground, riding dirt bikes around the house, moving every matrise in the house down to the basement and playing football, or jumping from the roof onto the trampoline, and most importantly covering up every trace of the stuff I had do to the house. Soccer is my sport and I play it religously all year. But its the best in the summer, Im on so many teams that its nice to just ride my bike to the fields and practise by myself. Living on a lake is nice but summer glorafies it and makes me apreciate it so much more than any other time of the year. When most people are stuck inside peeling themselves off of the coffee table to fix the fan, Im living it up in the water. Doing what ever I want to racing my boat, skiing, tubing, para-sailing, or my favorite playing pirates. I get my canoe and go sink who ever I run into. When I have nothing to do Ill go eat at the famous Essex House of Pizza, which is redicuasly over priced same with the Junction but when they are the closest thing to food Ill caugh up the dough. To me summer is like a journal you can write what ever you want in it an nobody has to know, which is just like my summers I can basically do whatever I want but sometimes you could say people look in the journal and I do get in trouble, but its summer where being grounded dosent last long because before long mom kicks you out of the hosue.


Summer is my favorite season and where I live its set up for summer.
