ESSAY

Kenneth Slessor's ability to create interesting people and places is created through his use of language.

In Slessor's poem 'BEACH BURIAL', he employs many language techniques to convey the lifelessness of the beach and the death of the soldiers. A powerful language tool that is consistently used throughout the entire poem is the use of contrast. Even the title 'BEACH BURIAL' is somewhat of a paradox where 'beach' has all the connotations of happy, warmth and fun while 'burial' promotes the notion of death, coldness and misery. Slessor introduces the poem by saying;

"Softly and humbly to the Gulf of Arabs" creates an eerie atmosphere, and sets the morbid tone of the poem.

He describes the soldiers as floating in convoys as it is symbolic for travelling in groups for protection, even though it is clear that the need for protection has now passed. Slessor also personifies the water to show the action of the waves rolling the dead soldiers onto the beach, has given them a sense of life. His use of alliteration throughout the first stanza creates a repetition of soft sounds to immediately implant imagery of sadness and despair.

Throughout the second stanza, Slessor incorporates the use of onomatopoeia to reflect echoes of past chaos, where men were once engaged in warfare. He uses internal forced rhyme to show the similarity of the shallow water and being buried in shallow graves. The use of sibilance is a powerful language tool as he describes a very primitive and exposed people walking on the shallow layer of sand that covers 'their nakedness'. These techniques have been successful in recreating the soldiers and letting us visualise their surroundings.

The third stanza is describing the crosses that have been staked into the ground as a final tribute of the soldiers once alive. The use of repetition of 'such' emphasises the overwhelming sadness that overcomes anyone there. Slessor personifies 'choke as they begin' like he wishes he could express his emotions but the sadness that consumes him prevents this from happening.

The use of personification continues in the start and throughout the body of the fourth stanza, to exemplify the idea that the pencil is more alive than the soldiers. Sibilance is a very dominant language feature to make the words flow with ease in a running stream of consciousness.

Slessor sums up these roaming words in the final stanza, and changes the language patterns so the words do not flow as easily and therefore have to be registered and taken in by the reader. The pace has changed with ideas separated by punctuation marks to emphasise the point of his poem.

Throughout the entire poem Slessor uses imagery to vividly describe scenes, which points to the idea that he is an eyewitness.

He also uses a lot of contrasting language features throughout 'BEACH BURIAL' to show the horrific nature of war, and he makes a statement for us how ironic war can be. The poem is conclude by saying that the soldiers are now 'enlisted on the other front' which is a euphamism for going to the afterlife, since their mortal life has now ended. The comment is two fold with an ironic tone.

In Slessor's poem 'COUNTRY TOWNS', he uses a variety of language techniques to portray his view of life in the country.

The introductory stanza is coloured with imagery, and starts off quite stereotypical and a little clich. He uses alliteration in the phrase 'bouncing on barrel mares' to show slow, but consistent movement. To Slessor life in the country is much the same so he uses his words to flow calmly and steadily, as he deems life in country town to be. The introduction sets the tone and pace for the rest of the poem. Slessor portrays the feeling that country towns are quiet and slow, held back from city life and effectively separated from suburban life. He suggests than even time moves more slowly in the country. Many towns are quite similar aesthetically so the images of aged historic buildings bestow a feeling of nostalgia and familiarity. Also, by making reference to 'general stores' being run by 'that mysterious race of Hogan's', he deliberately uses the repetition of sibilance to make it a blatant stereotype. Nevertheless, it is effective for his portrayal slow time.

The subsequent stanza advances into the town and looks in greater detail the ways that country people view their lifestyle in the country. He refers to the infamous School of Arts that seem to occupy these towns, this one in particular having been the host for 'The Great Golightly Family'. The use of alliteration is consistent. The poster advertising the entertainers is a year and a half old, which sticks to the idea that time, is slow.

The third stanza

Culture and individual beliefs are capable of affecting the principle and reasoning in every area of thinking. In view of the fact that all cultures are diverse, there are some which are more likely to commit particular fallacies than others. A persons culture is based upon numerous aspects such as race, history, geography, religion, and language. All of these things play a different part in cultures, and affect reasoning in a variety of ways and areas.

Culture, is a very persuasive and potent factor in the ways of our individual beliefs, and thoroughly plays an impact on our society today, also dating back hundreds of years ago. It is what makes our society, creating a basis for our beliefs, and influencing our logical thinking, therefore playing a very influential and immense role on the conclusions we reach as an individual. There are several various diverse cultures all around the world, and all are influenced by various examples, in their society. For instance, religion, physical environment, inspirational people (activists, presidents, humanitarians..), scientific affairs, and other numerous aspects in culture, which can dominantly inspire and manipulate the way we think, and why we think that way.

Culture in ancient times, was defined as "the sum total of the equipment of the human individual, which enables him to be attuned to his immediate environment on the historical past on the other". This means that culture reflects on the foundation of what humans have added to nature, otherwise meaning humans are what make up culture and society today. Culture consists of the intellectual, emotional features, and spiritual material of society today, and in addition, includes the value systems, traditions and modes of life and beliefs in society today. Furthermore, it also undergoes changes with time, absorbing from other different cultures, which sometimes could have a positive effect and other times negative. Today, there is a rapidly growing body of knowledge which in some causes "physical infections" to our culture, and the "poisoning" of peoples minds. A good example of this case is the habit of smoking, and how it is negatively infecting our culture, by mentally influencing the people to smoke. Consequently causing the "poisoning" of countless peoples minds, by making them believe in this habit, and this of coarse leads to deadly effects, which kills thousands of people each year. Although some of the knowledge has harmed the sphere of culture, there is knowledge that has been beneficial to culture, and given a "helping hand" to many diverse societies today.

Culture and individual beliefs depending of the culture affect different areas of logic differently. For example, a person from the Bahamas reasoning in fishing would differ from a person which is living in Alaska. The different aspects of culture have a diverse degree of effect on reasoning all depending on what factor influenced the culture more convincingly in development. A good example of this is, in Africa the religion rituals and the geography are very influential, while in Europe primarily history played a large part in developing the existing cultures. So as you can see, this is an example of two very different countries, separated by two very different cultural influences, therefore differentiating the beliefs and set of minds of the peoples residing in both nations. It is difficult to say if the effect of culture and individual beliefs on logic is negative or positive, although these effects on reasoning are a major cause to the misunderstandings in the world today. Furthermore, the world would be a plain place without the present diverse cultures. It is only when acceptance and tolerance become a part of our individual beliefs that it may be possible for culture and beliefs to not negatively affect conclusions reached.

Do my essay on MUSIC AND ITS PRIORITIES CHEAP !

In culture, there are many sides, which and all of them influence what is personally known and the way one makes decisions. And these sides or aspects are predominantly background (history), religion, individual beliefs, language, geography, and even race. The aspect of culture which are individual beliefs, are defined as being convictions and opinions. These two things are usually based on the other aspects of culture mentioned. For example a person who is a Muslim would most likely have different beliefs about the roles of women in society than someone who is Christian. In this example, the individual belief is a type code concerning women which was based by the development of the particular religions. Even though religion plays a very strong impact in our society today, beliefs are also cultivated trough family, education, peers, and in many cases can be developed depending on the area and time period that a person lives in. For example, since a person is living during the time period of Great Depression, that person would therefore firmly believe in saving money and working hard.

Now shifting toward back in history, to the early 100's, here is a good example of how culture and individual believes, can largely impact the conclusions we reach, and affect our logical thinking. When the perverse political genius Adolf Hitler, came into power (title of fuhrer) in 15 in Germany, he vowed to get rid of all the Jewish people, who resided in Germany, and else where if possible (Austria), because he blamed the Jewish for Germany's loss in a war. So he brain washed the minds of millions of people, including the massive amount of soldiers involved in the war, to hate the people of Jewish decent. So as you can see, how the evolving culture in that era in Germany, along with the individual beliefs of Hitler and the German people, affected their logical thinking and foremost influenced their conclusions that they resulted upon. They altogether first of all, were influenced to hate the Jews by their culture, and how it was interacting on this situation, and this lead to their hateful individual beliefs of the many German people against the hundreds of Jews. Moreover making them think irrationally, logically speaking about the Jewish people. So the great effect, of all their logical thinking, made them come to the conclusion, that all the Jewish people were bad and did not deserve to live. Therefore helping in the initiation of the holocaust, where thousands of Jewish peoples' in Germany, Austria and other countries, were immorally slaughtered and tragically beaten, simply because of their individual beliefs and influences in culture, which led them to conclude to such things.

Now to sum up the point of which "culture and individual beliefs play a role in logical thinking, and the conclusions we reach" there is a large assortment of different cultures all around the world, and all are influenced by the aspects of their culture, therefore having an influence on their believes, logical thinking, and the conclusions they reach from this. All the examples mentioned previously are true cases, which can explain the authenticity of this statement, and provide you a good explanation of the meaning of this verified testament. It is an obvious fact that cultural and individual beliefs can influence the minds of people in the ways of their logical thinking, furthermore the conclusions they reach, by the several different miscellaneous aspects of the cultures today, and also dating back to the past.

Q - Account for Bismarck's use of the forces of Nationalism and Liberalism in the unification of the German states up to 1871.

Otto Von Bismarck was instrumental in the unification of German states up for 1871. His experience as ambassador in St. Petersburg and Paris gave him considerable experience in foreign affairs, and his aim sought to deliver Prussia a higher status in Europe. Representing the Junker class, Bismarck was a great opportunist, delivering and commanding decisions well by exploiting situations at the right time. He accomplished unification through diplomatic persuasion and well prepared wars. He would often have individual tactics from the King.

Germans awarded much praise to Bismarck in the era, even some pronouncing him as a political genius. Today's' Historians are perhaps not so defiant in Bismarck's tactics, but rather his time of emergence and ability to exploit opportunities. An example is when Bismarck claimed "Man cannot create the current of events. He can only float with it and steer". In the 1850's, Prussia's rival, Austria was declining in hierarchy and dominance. Bad decisions and long-term mistakes would creep into Austrian politics after the death Schwarzenberg in 185. However, Prussia would continue it's impressive economic position and this increased nationalistic views and attitudes.

Meternich was determined to keep Austria in the 'drivers' seat'. Perhaps influenced by France, Meternich saw Germany as ripe for revolution from a combination of political unrest and social discontent. Senior posts in the Army, political power and all forms of bureaucracy would stay only with the noble class, which agitated the Middle class. Agricultural labourers and urban workers lived and worked in terrible conditions. An era of new technology left many people unemployed and caused protests in several industries. Together with potato blight, cholera, drought and economic inflation, the position heightened in tension.

Cheap custom writing service can write essays on Bismarck's role in the unfication of Germany

As if a long-term showdown was rumoured, Prussia had a head-start. Prussia had well trained military due to it's huge disciplined army, and it also had a growing economy from establishment of railroads as well the strong iron and steel production. In an entity ruled by King Wilhelm who appointed Bismarck in 186 to settle a dispute between the King and parliament over military reforms, there was everything but regression. In fact, the king gave Bismarck both full control of foreign and domestic affairs. Bismarck was a driven man who took whatever form of action necessary in order to achieve his desired goals.

When arriving on the scene and claiming there was no current provision to sort disputes in the constitution, Bismarck granted power back to the King, who in turn continued to collect taxes in order to finance the growing Prussian military. Bismarck released his famous "Iron and Blood" declaration in impeccable timing to the Prussian people, as a dispute with neighbours' Denmark shadowed closely.

In the year of 186, Denmark attempted to include a heavily German spoken region called Schleswig-Holstein in her own Kingdom. The Danish King breached a 185 Treaty of London, and due to gross unrest from Nationalists and Liberals back home, the Diet formed an alliance of Hanover, Saxony, Prussia and Austria. In a strategic move by Bismarck, he went against the Diet and only welcomed the Austrian alliance, determined to stand Prussia as the leader and gain support from Nationalists. The Danes were defeated and Bismarck demonstrated his willingness to overrule the Diet's rules in order to get what he wanted.

By this stage, Bismarck had already forecasted one move further than Austria. With war in mind, talks were made to France to keep her out of any involvement. This is an immensely important move towards the fulfilling task of the establishment of German national unity under the leadership of the King of Prussia. Bismarck eager to keep "on a roll", quickly released a constitution doing exactly his aims; to exclude Austria from German unification. This blatant move to create anger from Austria invited conflict and war soon broke out. Once again, Bismarck had timed this war well as his ruthless army took just six weeks to defeat Austria. Bismarck made an effort to stop a complete demolishment of Austria "to avoid leaving behind in her any unnecessary bitterness of feeling or desire for revenge" as Bismarck said in 1866.

Although it was not the liberals that united Germany, Bismarck received much support from them when he created a new North German Confederation. One assumes this was a dramatic change for Bismarck from when he studied law in the (Liberal) University of Göttingen, where his hatred of liberalism intensified. One liberal by the name of Von Schering claimed "I bow before the genius of Bismarck. I have forgiven the man everything he has up to now".

Prussia spearheaded the combination of seventeen small German states, and all were left little choice but to join the new government. Bismarck's foreign policy included nationalistic traits, for example, the purpose of safeguarding the internal and external security of Germany. Other advantages include morale unity, equal commercial laws, common administration of affairs and an unobstructed internal economy.

Bismarck, carefully edited the Kings words to give an impression that the King Wilhelm had insulted the French ambassador. France immediately declared war on Prussia in 1870. The south German states aligned between North Germany and France felt the threat of War and joined the North German Confederation. At this point, Bismarck perhaps could not believe his luck, or perhaps better described as an operation gone perfectly to the blueprint. Prussia defeated France in two months. King Wilhelm was crowned Kaiser of the new German Empire and Germany received five billion francs and the regions of Alsace and Lorraine. This was utter embarrassment for the French and another successful war campaign from Bismarck.

Bismarck was the architect of a policy that came to be known as realpolitik this means practical politics. During his time as Prime Minister he stay focused to his prime aim of strengthening Prussia. Alliances to him, were mere relationships that could be sacrificed conveniently in order to an opportunity. Although Bismarck supported democracy, this was only done to gain support from the public, However he dismissed liberalism and used it to improve his status amongst a fast growing Liberal movement at the time. Even in his most aggressive international conflicts, he would closely watch international affairs to work one opportunity off another in order to have reason to go ahead. One example is when Denmark let him take control and display his power over the diet, and in turn, declares war against Austria, and later on France. In the short period of just five years, Bismarck and his German unification became the most powerful country in Europe behind Britain.

At First I thought the book, Animal Farm would be a boring one, but as I read on I found out that the plot is really interesting. The phasing of the story is fast but youll never be hanged because its very detailed. In reading the book, it came into my mind why did the author write this story. Definitely, there should be a reason for this. First, I think that the story was compared to the life of the African-american people who were discriminated by the white americans. The black people demanded freedom from slavery because at the time of George Washington, black people are considered slaves by the white americans. They had lots of rebellion and of course, bloodshed. Finally, they had found the way to bring out their thirst for justice and liberty. Behind that liberty, we couldnt deny that there were still things that arent right. They discovered that there were still black when under the power of white americans. They chose to be slaves than to contradict the people with authority. After they got their freedom there were instances that almost made them give up their integrity and remain as slaves all their lives but at long last the war against the two colors had ended and they lived harmoniously.

Second, I can compare it in Europe when it was still conquered by other countries. They wanted, again freedom. Through their long planning of how they can achieve their freedom the time came when they cant stand it anymore. They were able to expell their conquerers and have their country as their own. Little did they know that they were just being played. They didnt know that they are ony putting their lives in danger. They were facing their ultimate nightmare. Another slavery stood up, inequality and cruelty. People who were

In Shakespeare's plays, there are many important scenes. In "Hamlet" one of the most important is Act III scene ii. This could be because it is a "key" scene in the fact that in unlocks a path for which the rest of the play will follow course. Or that it is a "key" scene because of its content, like the fact that it contains a play-within-a-play ect.

In my essay, I will discuss both of the point stated.

The main point of this scene is to see whether the Ghost seen in Act I Scene ii is telling the truth, or, if he is just an evil spirit, taking the form of Hamlet.

In this scene hamlet uses the play as a device with which to see if Claudius is guilty of murdering his father if not. He has the players act a scene like the ghosts account of how he was murdered. He and Horatio observe Claudius's reaction to the play and see if he reacts to it. We can tell that Hamlet thinks that he will react because he says

"…I have heard that guilty creatures sitting at a play have by the very cunning

of the scene been struck to the sole, that presently they have proclaimed their maletacions"

but there are also many differences between the "play-within-the-play" and what hamlet is told by the Ghost. Hamlet cannot have the actors play out the exactly what was said, because or else Claudius will know that Hamlet knows that he murdered his own brother, and that Hamlet wants to kill him.

One of the differences is that the prisoner, Lucianus, is not actually the kings brother, nut his nephew. The prisoner also "woos the Queen with gifts"; this does not happen in the play. The Queen also seems harsh to the idea of marring again, but in actual fact, she does not.

When Claudius is watching the play, the reacts to the scene when the Player King (sleeping in his orchard) Is poisoned by his nephew, just as hamlet had planned. Claudius starts calling for "Light" This could have many different meanings, "Light" could mean goodness or forgiveness, and he is seen in the next scene to be praying for forgiveness. Hamlet is delighted that his plan has worked, and that Claudius has revealed his guilt.

Hamlet asks if the king is frightened by "false fire", this could be like false fire in a gun, when there is no gunpowder (he is afraid of nothing).

At the start of this scene, Shakespeare gives advice to actors though Hamlet. We know this because the lines 1 to 6 were added to the play in a later edition. These likes also do not add to any of the plot.

Fellow playwrights of Shakespeare would have witnessed the play. He then states what the problems with acting are. These problems

The Problems of acting in Shakespeare's day

There were many problems in the standard of acting in Shakespeare's day. This

can be deduced by the extra lines that were added in Act III Scene ii lines

1-6.

People who used to act in plays at the time often shouted (as to be heard over

the talking and noise of the crowd). Shakespeare says that town crier might as

well act the plays, as they would be just as loud.

The actors also over did (over played) emotion, and that they weren't being

natural in the way that they acted, they weren't "Portraying nature" because no

one naturally.

In this scene, Hamlet reacts with many of the other characters in the play. It shows that he is a very witty character, always resorting to puns.

We can tell a lot bout how the stage was set up, and how theatre parts were played. Limelights were used to light the stage form below. When hamlet says "what, frightened by false fire?", false fire also refers to the "false fire" used to light the stage.

The fact that Shakespeare used original stories to base his plays on is also shown in this scene. Hamlet uses an earlier story to write his playa.

This scene also introduces a vicious circle to the play. Hamlet (wants to kill) Claudius (who tells) Leurties (to kill) Hamlet ect. This is a truing point in the play, where it is sent in a different direction than the audience think.

It is rare to have a dumb show, or play-within-a-play, within a play, and Hamlet is one of two Shakespeare plays which has one, the other one being A mid summers night dream. It is an important part of this scene because it is the only time within the entire play that we see the murder, after all, this is a play about murder. Before all we knew about the murder was what the Ghost tells Hamlet. It is one of the few examples what a dumb show was like during Shakespeare's time.

The dumb show was shown before the play to introduce it, like a program is used today. It was used to make people understand the main concept of the play.

During lines 46 to 64, Hamlet talks to Horatio about them being friends, and then, on line 64, says

"Something too much of this"

He says it like it is not a manly thing to be talking about. So men did not play sentimental parts on stage.

After the play has taken place, Guildenstern and Rosencrantz call Hamlet to his mother. He then accuses both of them of lying to him. They deny this, but know that they are. Hamlet says that lying is as easy as playing a flute. He then shows this to the audience by playing with Polonius, asking if he can see the cloud shapes in the sky, which obviously do not look like anything, and then changing his mind. Polonius then agrees with everything that he is told.

Hamlets soliloquy is used in communicating his current emotional state to the audience because it reveals the true nature of Hamlets feelings; not only through the diction but also through the imagery, language and underlying messages of the text. It successfully highlights the divisions of character of Hamlet whilst aiding the audience in building a connection with him.

The play dealt with contemporary issues at the time. The question of who would succeed Elizabeth the Ist was an important one at the time. The play deals with the murder of a king, which would have been shaking to the audience because of its subject, a king was appointed by God, and if he was killed, it would be like disobeying God.

In he play, when all of the royal family is dead, Fortinbras claims the throne and becomes king of Denmark, Fortinbras is a prince form Norway.

"..with sorrow I embrace my fortune. I have some rights of memory in this kingdom, which now to claim my vantage doth invite me."

This, in Shakespearian times, would have been the happy ending to the play. The throne was taken over by someone with royal blood, who had been appointed by God.

One of the most important, or key, scenes in the play "Hamlet" is Act II Scene ii. This is because of many reasons. It changes the course that the play takes because of the fact that Hamlet now knows that the Ghost seen in Act I Scene ii is telling the truth. He will then try and kill Claudius. It is also important because it revels a lot about how the art of acting was conducted in Shakespeare's time.

Please note that this sample paper on In what ways is Act III Scene ii one of the key scenes in Shakespeare's play "Hamlet"? is for your review only. In order to eliminate any of the plagiarism issues, it is highly recommended that you do not use it for you own writing purposes. Political Opponents to the Nazi Regime

Between 1 and 145, a variety of groups offered resistance to the Nazis. Among the earliest opponents of Nazism in Germany were Communists, Socialists, and trade union leaders.

Locating sources for such a group of opponents has been particularly difficult mainly due to the fact that they were dealt with in a very effective manner. Spreading of political ideas around this time was also mainly word of mouth and little or no sources exist to show this other than the SOPADE reports shown below (referring to factory workers and small group meetings)

The communists

Custom Essays on Political Opponents to the Nazis

The Reichstag was burned on the 7 February. A leading Communist was arrested and beheaded for the crime. Hitler used this as an excuse to make people belief in a communist uprising. The King then suspends civil rights, supposedly temporarily. However, it was continued until 145.

The Sturmabteilung or SA was founded, with Hitler at its head, as a private Para-military force, which allegedly was to be used for the purpose of protecting NSDAP leaders from attack by rival political parties, and preserving order at NSDAP meetings, but in reality was used for fighting political opponents on the Streets.

Hitler began to remove his political opponents in their opposing political parties. The Communists had already been disbarred, as were the Social Democrats and the Catholic Centre party, as well as the conservative groups. It became illegal to be a member of a political party and anyone caught rallying power against the Regime was imprisoned and later executed.

The first concentration camps in Germany were established soon after Hitlers appointment as chancellor in January 1. The SA (Sturmabteilung; Storm Troopers) and the police organized concentration camps beginning in February 1. Set up by local authorities on an ad hoc basis to handle the masses of people arrested as alleged political opponents of the regime, camps existed throughout Germany. For example, camps were located in Oranienburg, north of Berlin; Esterwegen, near Hamburg;

The Nazi Party banned the SDP in June 1 and most of its leaders were arrested and sent to concentration camps.

Ernst Thaelmann was arrested by the Gestapo on rd March 1. He was later able to smuggle out details of his interrogation.

It is nearly impossible to relate what happened for four and a half hours, from 5.00pm to .0pm in that interrogation room. Every conceivable cruel method of blackmail was used against me to obtain by force and at all costs confessions and statements both about comrades who had been arrested, and about political activities.

It began initially with that friendly good guy approach as I had known some of these fellows when they were still members of Severings Political Police (during the Weimar Republic). Thus, they reasoned with me, etc., in order to learn, during that playfully conducted talk, something about this or that comrade and other matters that

interested them. But the approach proved unsuccessful. Was then brutally assaulted and in the process had four teeth

But the actual high point of this drama was the final act. They ordered me to take off my pants and then two men grabbed me by the back of the neck and placed me across a footstool. A uniformed Gestapo officer with a whip of hippopotamus hide in his hand then beat my buttocks with measured strokes, Driven wild with pain I repeatedly screamed at the top of my voice.

Then they held my mouth shut for a while and hit me in the face, and with a whip across chest and back. I then collapsed, rolled on the floor, always keeping face down and no longer replied to any of their questions. I received a few kicks yet here and there, covered my face, but was already so exhausted and my heart so strained, it nearly took my breath away.

PART 1

Thalos Vanmor was known to the thieves and thugs as one of the greatest trackers, trap-finders, scouts, thieves, and lock picks on all of Oerth. To the common folk, he was just another face in the crowd. He was easily the most skilled member of the Crimson Shadow Guild of Gray Hawk.

Not such a tall man. He only stood just over five feet tall. He was as graceful as a swan and slightly built. He had long raven black hair and green eyes that glistened like two emeralds. He was quite charismatic and always clean shaven. He always carried a silver dagger at his side. He commonly was dressed in all black, but occasionally wore green and brown when venturing off into the forest. On his right shoulder he bares the mark of the Crimson Shadow.

(A hazy red fiend clutching a dagger ). He wouldn't even go back on a deed owed to a friend nor enemy. One day, he was in the Silver Goblet, a tavern in the upscale district of Gray Hawk. He noticed a noble in red robes enter the tavern. He took note of the man's great Golden Dragon pendent right away. Suddenly a thought clicked in his mind that he had to have the pendent. An over whelming thought , a promise of riches and eternal life emanated from the pendent. As if the pendent beckoned for him. He quickly decided that he would have to steel it from the man. He slowly maneuvered his way through the crowed of people over to the man. As he reached out to slyly cut the man's pendent form his neck, a drunken dwarf bumped into him. His hand slipped, and he accidentally stabbed the man into the back of his head. He took the pendent, and then bolted out the door.

A moment later as he gracefully weaved and darted through the crowd, he heard shouts for the city guards. As he looked back, he saw two members of the guards in studded leather armor. Their spears held high and close to their chest, they maneuvered through the crowd in pursuit of Thalos.

Thalos moved on franticly looking for a means of escape. He could sense the guards getting closer every moment. In his haste, he darted down an ally, but to his dismay he soon realized the horrible truth that it was a dead-end. He searched for a place to hide but there was nothing. He began to realize that he was going to have to fight the guards or admit defeat and be arrested.

As the guards began to come into site, Thalos felt an arm on his shoulder. He looked over and saw an arm coming through the wall, and he was pulled through. He sat on the floor, breathless for several minutes talking in the last few events. He looked up to see a tall hulking beast of a man. He remembered the man as a half orc, one of the few mixed breeds between orc and man. The man had small tusks jolting from his bottom jaw. He had red eyes that shined like fire red rubies. His hair was a tangled mess of knots. He had no real nose but in its place were two nostrils. He had hair all over his hulking frown. There was a tattoo of the shadow fang gang on his right peck. (A white fang surrounded by a circle of black) The half-orc looked down with a puzzled look on his

and said "Thalos?" in a gruff stern voice.

Thalos shook his head in agreement and asked "And who might you be." in a calm tone.

"I am Pintrom. I have been sent by my gang leader, Rostile, to gain your help." He said in his gruff voice as he extended his arm to help Thalos up.

"Ok, I will help your gang Pintron." Thalos said, as he thought to himself that he owed this man a favor for saving his life. He reached up to grasp Pintrom's arm to right himself. Then, Pintrom led Thalos down a pitch black corridor. Thalos pulled out his silver dagger and activated it's light ability. As he did, he noticed the splendor or this corridor. The walls were made of smooth polished marble. The ceiling had a magnificent painting of a huge Great wyrm red dragon laying serge to a towering black cathedral. The view was breath taking. He also noted that some of the figures in the painting moved slightly as if the whole event on the ceiling was unfolding at that very moment. The floor was polished obsidian with white spots that resembled the endless night. The smell of fire burning filled his nostrils as a gentle breeze blew past his face. He closed his eyes for just a second, and he nearly forgot where he was.

When they reached the end of the long corridor, there was a great stone door. On the door, there was a carving of a great wolf of the shadows. The carving seemed to leap out at you. If he didn't know any better, he would have thought it to be the Wolf of the Shadows.

Pintrom pushed the huge door open with ease and an eerie silence. The door opened into a gargantuan room. The room was adorned with great violet tapestries, beautiful tables, and realistic statues of great beasts. At the far end of the room. There was a man sitting in an oversized chair.

Pintrom lead Thalos over to the man in the chair.

The man then said "I am the great Rostile Leader of the Shadow Fang Gang, One of the most prominent gang in Flaless.", In an oddly deep voice for a man of his size.

Rostile seemed to be only about 4'. He had short brown hair and sky blue eyes. He had a very predominant chin. There was an odd, yet comforting smile on his face. He wore a blue noble outfit with a dark indigo cloak trimmed with silver. He had a short sword with a very large ruby in it's hilt set on the arm of the massive chair on witch he sat.

"Your probably wondering why I asked you here.? In fact there are probably several thoughts running through your head." Said Rostile in a playful tone with a hint of sarcasm.

"Yes. What is this place?" said Thalos with an odd innocence.

"This is the new grand hall of the Shadow Fang Gang. We acquired from a great wizard in a recent business venture, but on a more serious note I need a favor." Said Rostile.

"What kind of favor do you have in mind?" Said Thalos with a puzzle look upon his face.

"I need a item from a wizard and your skills will be a key part in my attaining this rare item, but until you accept I cant tell you any more." He said in a more serious tone.

"What will this task pay?" Said Thalos in a quick and a harsh tone.

"You will receive 100 gold pieces and you may keep the items I provide you with and any thing you find in the wizards keep." Said Rostile. The smile appearing on his face again.

"I'll accept your offer but only if you put up 1000 gold pieces up front." Said Thalos with a smug grin upon his face.

"Ok you may your gold Thalos." Said Rostile after much deliberation. As he tossed Thalos a rather large pouch of gold .

"So what will this job consist of and what is the item I will have to obtain for you." Thalos said in a grinning child like manner.

"The item I need is the legondary Shadowstaff . I heard that it is now in the possession of Gorthose The Arch mage of Dyves. It is lock away some where with in the walls of his colossal tower. Now Pintrom will take you to Levinon our wizard. He will help your travel." Rostile said now more serious then ever.

Pintrom led Thalos to a small wooden door in the southeast corner of the magnificent room.

As Thalos walked through the door he saw …

The solopsism of the postcard is shown here in all its bland glory; an annotated rendition of a journeyexperience stripped of any excitement or interest. So, the postcard heads for Leicester, citing Vancouver, Alberta, California and Kettering in some mad congregation of disperate locales. The Lord the Flies

The Lord of the Flies by William Golding is a novel depicting the depravity of

all human beings. It follows a group of British boys on a journey from

Cheap University Papers on lord of the flies

civilization to savagery and the ultimate fight for survival. It explores

startling questions about human nature through symbolism. The dark side of

human nature is manifest in everyone. Only those who face the truth and are

completely honest with themselves can overcome that darkness.

The darkness is brought about by fear, cruelty, and deceit. Fear is first

introduced to island society by the littluns who speak of a beast from the water

and from the forest. This fear is multiplied and magnified tenfold as everyone

is drawn into this terror of the unknown. Though the older boys know that there

is no beast because they have explored the island and found nothing, they choose

to deceive themselves and succumb to fear, to darkness. Cruelty is the most

physical of the dark traits and even Ralph has an abundance of it. The boys

unite through common cruelty, from the teasing of Piggy to the killing of pigs.

Cruelty exists in moderation in most people and society usually does not allow

it to develop. In these unusual circumstances however, Roger and Jack reach new

heights of violence towards others. The darkness becomes a formidable force on

the island as those who oppose it are subdued or killed, and the truth

concealed.

It is possible to overcome the darkness by seeing the truth and accepting only

complete honesty towards oneself. Simon, after his conversation with the Lord

of the Flies, becomes a bearer of truth. He is the only child who understands

what the beast is. In carrying this knowledge, he is murdered by the masses, by

those who are possessed by the darkness. He is a sacrifice for the cause of

shedding light in the dark because it allows Ralph to find conviction in

himself. This force of cruelty and deceit subconsciously manifests itself in

the children, and they fall victims of the darkness by killing Simon. After

Simon's murder, only Ralph is willing to face the events of that night. Piggy

calls it an accident while Jack tries to explain it away by claiming Simon was

the beast in disguise. Jack, while in self-denial, is also perpetrating an

effective scheme to maintain power over the tribe. An event of this magnitude

had the potential to topple Jack's leadership but instead he turns it to his

advantage, by telling lies. Simon's murder allows Jack to emphasize the danger

of the beast and therefore the necessity to hunt and give offerings to appease

it. Though not having as clear an understanding as Simon, Ralph makes the

sacrifice worthwhile for he, from this point forth, can never be completely

submerged in the darkness.

Piggy's death is further symbolic of the necessity for seeing the world clearly

in order to overcome the darkness. The reason Piggy and Ralph confront the

tribe at the time which leads to Piggy's death is because Jack steals the

glasses in order to make fire. The glasses and their utility represent

civilization and intelligence. Furthermore, though it physically helps Piggy

see clearly, it symbolically is the force behind Ralph's progressive ideas.

Piggy, the advisor behind Ralph's leadership, gives Ralph a broader and clearer

perspective. It is in this manner that Ralph is able to make good decisions for

the people. Piggy is murdered by Roger on a sadistic whim and Piggy's

intelligence embodied by the glasses are perverted to serve the savages. The

tribe uses the glasses to make fire the fire that will soon consume the entire

island in the hunt for Ralph. Though Piggy dies, his influence and his ability

to see the truth continue in Ralph. Completely alone, Ralph is able to draw on

Piggy's insight and hold on to civilization for strength. Ralph, being the only

remaining person on the island who is willing to face the truth, has to be

eliminated. The glasses, though turned from their original purpose of

maintaining civilization, still retain some of its virtue. The fire the tribe

starts to smoke out Ralph using those glasses also serves to save his life; thus

enabling him to survive the darkness of the island society.

The group of little boys on the island is a microcosm of human society. The

appearance of the naval officer at the end of the novel draws a parallel between

the war waged in the adult world and the boys' isolated existence. It shows

that even in "civilized" society, darkness permeates human interactions, be it

between countries or countrymen. Only the truth will prevail over the darkness

of human nature.

Genetic Engineering

If you order your custom term paper from our custom writing service you will receive a perfectly written assignment on Genetic Engineering. Over the past decade genetic engineering has moved from the realms of fantasy to reality thanks to the sequencing of the human genome and developments in molecular biology techniques. A definition of genetic engineering is "the manipulation of DNA using restriction enzymes which can split the DNA molecule and then rejoin it to form a hybrid molecule." It is the introduction of genes into existing cells; this may be used to prevent or cure a wide range of diseases or perhaps to genetically alter a plant so that it gives more food.

There are three types of genetic engineering. The first is used for gene therapy and involves the use of retroviruses. Retroviruses are viruses that can transfer their own genetic information and also genetically alter the human gene. This type of therapy can be used in the treatment of brain tumours. Suppose a brain tumour is forming by rapidly dividing cancer cells. The reason this tumour is forming is due to some defective or mutated gene. The therapy chosen for this case would be to use a herpes virus that has had its virulence removed, rendering it harmless. The virus is still able to insert its genetic material into the target cells. The virus is then taken and injected into mouse cells, where it makes additional copies of itself. These mouse cells, now containing the virus, are then injected into the brain containing the tumour. Once inside the brain, the virus seeks out the target tumour cells and invades them. The tumour will now start to produce herpes enzymes because the virus has inserted its genetic material into the tumour cells. Once this happens, a physician can treat the patient with a herpes curing drug that will destroy the tumour cells along with the mouse cells that are producing the herpes enzyme.

The second method involves blasting genes with a pressurized gun filled with helium. The helium gun will fire very small gold bullets, which will be coated with the genetically altered genes. This technique was done on mice that had tumours. The gold bullets coated with the altered genes were shot at the skin of the mice that surrounded the tumours. The cells that were successful in receiving the altered genetic code activate immune cells. By this activation of the immune cells, it is hoped the tumours will decrease. By using the gene bullets the genes are not permanently in the cells of the mice but the effects ware off in a few days to a few weeks. This may be an advantage or a disadvantage.

The final method involves liposomes. These are hollow, fat molecules in solution. This method has been experimented with cystic fibrosis, where chloride ion levels need to be kept low. By inhaling liposomes coated with genetically altered genes, the build up of chloride ion is prevented. There is a significant decreased in chloride ion levels. This method does not pose the harmful side effects that retroviruses do.

Do my essay on Genetic Engineering CHEAP !

Despite this new technology possibly curing thousands of diseases, there are many disadvantages to using it. The basis of gene therapy is finding a gene that is not functioning right and to insert a healthy portion into that gene. To find these genes, scientists must perform genetic tests or genetic screening to see if the gene that causes the defect is present. This genetic testing is highly controversial and is raising many ethical and legal issues. Many believe that this is an invasion of privacy. If, for example, tests are performed during pregnancy to find genetic faults, these could lead to an increase in the number of abortions. Many young couples may find out that they are carriers of a disease and then have to decide if they want to have a child that could be born with a genetic disease. One major dilemma is finding adequate insurance once a person finds they have a genetic disorder. This may be insurance to cover the treatments, which could be gene therapy, or living their lives knowing that they carry a gene for a disease. A positive test will have placed them in a high-risk group, a group they may have not been in if they hadn't been tested. It is this labelling that makes insurance coverage almost impossible to find. The insurance that will cover them may be extremely expensive. So, choosing to have the test may be a question of whether they think their current insurance will cover them or not.

Another problem is regulation of the uses of gene therapy. For example, society is obsessed with the idea of youth and beauty. If scientists could identify the gene that contributes to youth or beauty, then the technique of gene therapy could be monopolized by the cosmetic industry to enhance beauty or to "turn back the clock". The problem with this is whether baldness, height, or beauty should be enough of a reason to require gene therapy. Then where does it stop? Do we have the right to design who we are, what are children should be? Should people have the power to play God? Many people are worried that new virus or unseen disasters could be provoked by human's medalling in genetics. Do we know all the consequences? Although precautions are taken, the risks of harmful modified bacteria (as an example), escaping, still exist. There is also a fear that biological weapons could be developed as a result of genetic engineering. This, for many, this is a central problem in the future capabilities of genetic engineering.

A final disadvantage relates to taking genetic information out of other animals and placing them into humans. For example if an animal produces an enzyme, which is in short supply in some humans, the gene from the animal could be placed into humans. Many moral issues are raised here also. Should we be taking cells from animals and putting them in ourselves?

However, for many, the advantages far out-weigh the disadvantages of gene therapy. First of all, advances in the field have introduced treatments to various diseases that were previously thought to be hopeless. Secondly, gene therapy has brought about the production of medicines in mass quantities. The medicines are pure and much cheaper if technology allows it to be produced in large amounts. Also genetically engineered organisms have many potential applications in agriculture, including novel foods, pesticides, and animal drugs. These include, among others, animals engineered for leaner meat, plants engineered for insect resistance, and bacteria engineered to produce drugs for livestock. Many of the problems that exist with genetic engineering could be eradicated with further funding. While, if precautions are taken the risk factor can be minimised to a miniscule scale. Whatever the view point, there is no denying that genetic engineering has the potential to be a revolutionary new form of curing diseases or even solving industrial problems in agriculture. Perhaps, eventually genetically modified food could even be a cheap solution to world hunger. What should be remembered throughout is that if used for good, genetic engineering could save millions of lives. For that reason alone, I believe that developments into genetic therapy should continue.

"It's like rain on your wedding day. It's the free ride and you've already paid. It's the good advice that you just didn't take. Isn't it ironic? Don't you think?" These are lyrics from a popular song titled Ironic. Have you ever stopped to think how ironic life is? Maybe you don't even know what irony is. Irony is defined in Webster's as "incongruity between the actual result of a sequence of events and the normal or expected result." Oedipus' life, in Oedipus Rex by Sophocles, is the epitome of irony. Even though the song Ironic was written just a few years ago, I think that the song could have been Oedipus' theme song. I am going to take you on a journey through Oedipus' life and demonstrate how different events in his life correspond symbolically to each scenario of this song. Oedipus ironic marriage is "like rain on your wedding day." His "free ride" was to be a ruler, but he "already paid" by taking another throne. In addition we see many characters throughout the play giving him advice "that [he] just didn't take." However, the most ironic component of the play is how Oedipus, with good eyesight, is blind to the truth and the blind man can "see" everything.

A bride's nightmare is rain on her wedding day. A wedding is suppose to be bright and beautiful not damp and dreary. The same thing is true for a marriage. For Oedipus and Iocaste their marriage started off bright and beautiful but abruptly turned damp and dreary. Oedipus runs away from home because of an oracle that says he would marry his mother. He thinks that staying away from his mother will prevent the oracle from coming true. After solving a riddle and delivering the people of Thebes, Oedipus gets a beautiful bride, Iocaste, as his gift. Life is good for Oedipus and there is no "rain on his wedding day." However when he begins to realize that Iocaste could be his mother and the story unfolds, he is faced with having committed one of the worst sins, marrying his mother. Suddenly there is "rain on his wedding day." It is ironic that the very thing that he left home for was the reason for his demise and the marriage that he cherished so much was considered so indecent. "Isn't it ironic? Don't you think?"

If Oedipus would have stayed in Corinth, he would have been king. It was a "free ride." Polybos, King of Corinth, loved Oedipus so much that Oedipus believed that he truly was his son. If Oedipus would have stayed, he would have been there when Polybos got sick and passed away and then Oedipus would have inherited the throne. However, because of the oracle, Oedipus fled Corinth. Oedipus "paid" much to become a king, which he could have been if he would have stayed. This payment included killing the king of Thebes, ironically his father. Oedipus' royalty could have been a "free ride," but he decided to "pay" for it. "Isn't it ironic? Don't you think?"

Don't you hate it when someone gave you good advice that you just didn't take? Oedipus suffered immensely for not listening to other's advice. For example, Teiresias tries to convince Oedipus to let him go home because it doesn't want to tell Oedipus what he knows. Teiresias tell Oedipus, "No, I will never tell you what I know. Now it is my misery; then, it would be yours." (Scene 1 line 11-11). Teiresias advises Oedipus not to force him to tell what he knows, but that was good advice that Oedipus just doesn't take. Later Iocaste tries to stop Oedipus from digging so deep into the murder of Creon. She says "listen to me, I beg you do not do this thing!"(Scene line 145) Again it was "good advice that he just didn't take." "Isn't it ironic? Don't you think?"

Custom writing service can write essays on SOMETHING

Perhaps the most ironic part of the play is the underlying symbolism of being able to see physically, but blind to the truth verses being blind physically, but able to see everything. This antagonism is seen between Oedipus and Teiresias. Oedipus is blind to the fact that the person he is so passionately looking for is himself. His blindness to the truth causes him to create an unimaginable sentence for the murderer of Creon, which is none other than himself. However, Teiresias who is physically blind is the one person who knows the truth. Teiresias knows that Oedipus is the murderer that Oedipus is looking for. Ironically at the end of the play, when Oedipus realizes the truth, he pokes out his eyes, causing himself to be blind. "Isn't it ironic? Don't you think?"

Irony is something that is encountered everyday. Most of us don't even realize that it is irony. Oedipus primary goal in this play was to save his people and in saving his people, he banished himself. His marriage ended up being rainy, his free ride ended up costing him the throne, and the good advice that he didn't take led to his demise. "Isn't it ironic? Don't you think?"

Is the book a Handmaids Tale considered a feminist book? Many readers choose to believe so butI on the other hand disagree with those people. Atwood is showing us the flaws that are inbeded in our society about how the treatment of women is sometimes unjust. There are many parts in the book that contain evidence of a distopian society. The women are classified with in many ways such as they have to wear different colored dresses that resembles what rank they are like the handmaids in red, the Marthas, the Aunts, and the Commanders wife in blue. The handmaids were given a new name like Offred, Offwarren, and Offglen wiith all of them beging with Off- and te ending is to show which commander whom they belong to. There is a great decrease in the birth rate and every month the handmanids have a sexual intercourse with their Commanders in hope that they will become pregnant. Even if one does become pregnant there cna still be birth defects or with the baby diying which is very common. Offred was married to Luke whom now she bearly remembers what he looks like and she also had a daughter whom she never mentions her name in the novel. She is not allowed to speak her real name and she does not even mention it to the reader either. Her Commander invites her to his room adn she is curious to what he wants with her but really all he want to do is play Scrabble which is forbin for her because she is not allowed to rea or write. Eventually after so many visits he gives her a magazins but she is concerned wether or not to take it from him thinking that he is trying to trick her. But she doestake it from him and she questions him on how he got it because all of the magazines had been burned and he just simply said all but one.

The story, Two Kinds, by Amy Tan describes the struggle between a dominate mother who tries to protect her daughter, Ni kan, from the devastating losses that she suffered by convincing her that she might become anyone she wants to be. Ni kan resents her mothers control and wishes only to be herself. The author clearly illustrates in this story that parents can not control their childrens lives; they can only guide them in the right direction and let them make their own decisions.

First of all, Amy Tan shows that Ni kans mother attempted to dominate and control her daughters life. The mother does this by telling Ni kan that . . . you can be prodigy, too (41) and insisting that she work toward this goal. Ni kan is then sent down a path of endless tests and lessons. These include tests on capitals of the states; multiplying numbers in her head; finding the queen of hearts in a deck of cards; trying to stand on her head without using her hands; predicting the daily temperatures in Los Angeles, New York, and London; and looking at a page from the Bible for three minutes and reporting everything that she remembers (4).

Although Ni kan quickly loses interest of her mothers dream of being a prodigy, her mother persists. She arranges for Ni kan to take piano lessons. Her mother does not ask her if she wants to play the piano or to explore another art form. She arranges a complete schedule of lessons and practices that take over not only her daughters physical existence but also dominate Ni kans thoughts for most of her free time. Her mother wants to control not only her actions but also her dreams and aspirations, and she will not tolerate disobedience. She clearly says that Only one kind of daughter can live in this house. Obedient daughter (47).

Amy Tan shows that Ni kan resents her mothers decisions and resists her control. After many failed tests in knowledge and skills, Ni kan asserts to herself, I wont let her change me. . . (4). This clearly shows a child resisting parental domination and control. The piano lessons evokes a response of ...I felt like I was being sent to hell (4). With this attitude she responds to this attempt to make her a success by lazily drifting through endless practices and lessons.. She performs the tasks without enthusiasm or interest. She only goes to the lessons at her mothers insistence.

Ni kan never appreciates that she has been give an opportunity to to explore music and enrich herself. Ni kans concern with her beautiful dress and the way to give a proper curtsey, rather than the way she plays, show that she does not realize that the purpose of the recital is to demonstrate competence that comes after hard work. Therefore her performance is a failure because she never tried to learn her lessons and she wasnt prepared for the recital.

Ni kans battles with her mother do not end with the recital disaster. Ni kan confides, It was not the only disappointment my mother felt in me (47). She continually disappoints her mother as she grows up because she asserts her own will to be who she wants to be not who her mother wants her to be. She does this even at the price of throwing away the real opportunities her mother gave her.

Eventually, Ni kan and her mother reconcile their differences. This is symbolized when her mother gives Ni kan the piano for her thirtieth birthday. This reconciliation makes Ni kan feel like a tremendous burden has been removed. Her mother still sadly insists that she can play because she has natural talent. All that stands in her way is that she is just not trying (48). Ni kans mother realizes that it was her dream for Ni kan to become a prodigy, but Ni kan had never accepted that dream as her own. The mothers actions show us that she forgives Ni kan for all the failures and is content that Ni kan has become successful in her own way.

The two piano pieces called the Pleading Child and Perfectly Contented parallel Ni kans life. When she was young and controlled by her mothers dreams, Ni kan was a pleading child. She pleaded with her mother to let her find her own dream. When Ni kan becomes older, she is contented because she follows her own dreams.

Parents and children will eternally struggle over control. Amy Tan shows us through this story that parents never can truly control children. Children come to us with their own minds and spirits, and develop their own hopes and dreams that parents can not silence. She also points out that even obedient children who do as they are told still have willful thoughts. In the portrait of Ni kan, we sympathize with these young minds. Ni kan shows us that good children will disappoint their parents over and over; not because theyre bad, but because they can only be who they are, themselves.

Self-Disclosure

(A) A very important form of interpersonal communication that you can employ in is talking about yourself, or also referred as self-disclosure. Self-disclosure is the process of revealing something about yourself to another person, in most cases revealing something that you usually keep hidden like a secret. Self-disclosure might involve information about your values, desires and beliefs, your behavior, and your self-qualities or characteristics. You can also self-disclose nonverbally for example by, wearing certain clothes with certain colors, wearing t-shirts with slogan, wearing earnings, having tattoos or a wedding ring that reveal who you are, or what you believe in, like your beliefs.

Self-disclosure occurs in all forms of communicating, it can occur in small groups, in public speeches and in television talk shows. Self-disclosure varies by culture for example, in some countries like Great Britain and Japan people don't disclose as much as in the United States, in some countries like China students may believe that self-disclosing, can be inappropriate at times. Some cultures view self-disclosing as a weakness or coward ness, showing signs of low self-esteem or not being sure of something. Self-disclosure is also different among genders, woman tend to self-disclose more than men do, they tend to reveal more intimate information than men, and most commonly woman tend to disclose more than men about their previous romantic relationships, their feeling about their friends and their greatest fears.

Women also seem to self-disclose more as the relationship becomes more intimate, whereas men don't change their self-disclosure levels. In self disclosure you reveal information to feel better or to let somebody know what your feeling or what you believe, self-disclosing happens everyday and everywhere and many times, we might not know that we are self-disclosing information.

(B) In an incident in my life were I used self-disclosure to communicate information about myself to another person was two years ago. Two summers ago while in Mexico for vacation, I was determined to find a nice girl to meet and possibly one day to marry.

One day I met this girl, and the moment I saw her, I knew she was one; she was the most beautiful woman I had ever seen and I had to meet her. The first time I talked to her was at a party, we started dancing and I began telling her about myself, the normal stuff like what my name was my age and were I was from, but when we sat down, our conversation changed totally. I began to disclosed information about myself that I normally kept to myself, I wasn't sure why I did this, but I later realized that I wanted her to know what I believed in, and who I really was as a guy, to get to know the real me. I told her that I was a nice guy who believed that in a relationship both partners had to treat each other equally and with respect, I told her that I was not a machismo individual. I told her that at times I could become grouchy and that at times I was very sweet and even that I was afraid of rats, something I always felt embarrassed revealing to anyone. I told her that I was a little shy among people and that I became very nervous when I had conversation with them. I even told her that I was addict to alcohol, something I never wanted to admit to anybody.

My goal was to show her that I had confidence in myself by revealing my weakness and strengths. I wanted her to know that I wasn't scared to reveal the truth no matter what it was, by doing this I believed I was a doing a positive thing because I was demonstrating to her that I was a real man and not a sissy and it payoff because she got my point and she truly understood me and thanks to that we are enjoying a beautiful relationship.

(C) The theory of self-disclosure explains what happened in my experience and also what happens in my everyday life because it demonstrates a lot of what self-disclosure is as defined, and also the effects it has towards people, or group of people in different kinds of situations and places.

In my case I self-disclose myself to another person in order reveal my beliefs, values and desires, my behavior, and my self-qualities, I wanted to explain what I wanted with my life. I think I self-disclose information in a positive way, because it made a good impression about myself and also I self-disclose negative information about myself in order to demonstrate that I accepted my weaknesses and that I wasn't perfect. I also believe that self-disclosure explains what happens in my life, because everyday I disclose information to people, although it may not be as intimate or secretive all the time. I do it everyday to get a point across and that is to communicate to others freely and to get my point perfectly understood. As I got to know her better, I became more sociable and extroverted and in a way this made me self-disclose more to this special person. I couldn't of picked another theory for interpersonal communication; this theory fully explains what happen during that incident and what happens everyday in my life.

(D) The theory of self-disclosure is important because being competent makes me have a greater self-confidence and makes me reveal more positive things, and with more self-confidence you become a better person. Showing more self-disclosure makes me more willing to risk possible negative reactions, self-disclosing myself has made me a better person, I have lost my shyness towards other people and I've become a positive thinker.

Using self-disclosure helped me increase my self-knowledge, communication and relationship effectiveness, and physiological well-being. With greater self-knowledge I have gained a new perspective on myself, a deeper understanding of my own behavior, through self-confidence and I have gotten into a better position to see my positive responses. Self-disclosure helped me meet the nicest girl in the world, and by self-disclosing my hidden information, I won this girls hearth. If you want to be recognized and have good self-confidence, you have to be willing to disclose information about yourself to others so they fully can understand, who you are and what you believe in.

Being self-disclosure or when someone discloses you is sign of trust and affection, it demonstrates that you are a peoples person and that is a plus these days. It is also proven that if you self-disclose you are less vulnerable to illnesses. If you self-disclose your information you feel good about yourself, because you let out some kind of information that probably worried you and now you feel better that you let it out. And because of this self-disclosure has helped me solved many problems, when I needed help for something or was not sure what to do. I self-disclosed myself, and I received information that really helped me out, and that changed my life
